There’s no longer any need to be afraid of going to the dentist. Your visit to the dentist can now be both relaxing and enjoyable. Dr. Marc Seigel, an associate of Dr. Hyde, completed special training that enables him to treat even the most fearful people.
The procedure is known as Oral Conscious Sedation (OCS). Using only a small pill, it allows you to have your dental care accomplished while you are totally relaxed and comfortable.
Having some degree of nervousness about going to the dentist is completely understandable and normal. However, when a person does not seek the dental care that they want and need because nervousness has escalated to anxiety, a more relaxing approach is available for the patient.

Conscious Sedation Is Relaxation Dentistry
Conscious sedation is a method of administering oral medication to help patients achieve complete relaxation during dental care procedures. Patients are not asleep, or unconscious (put ‘under’). You’re breathing on your own and you can respond to the doctor’s words as needed.

Dr. Seigel has always been sensitive to patients with fear and anxiety; and now Dentistry offers you a safe option and even more comfortable experience. After a sedation appointment, patients can expect to return to their normal activities the following day without any side effects.

Who Should Consider Conscious Sedation?
• Patients who feel extremely fearful;
• Patients who want to do significant dental treatment in one visit;
• Patients who have difficulty getting numb;
• Patients with a gag reflex or chronic jaw problems;
• Patients who experience a sense of claustrophobia during dental treatment.

Is Conscious Sedation Safe?
Yes. The following is done with every patient:
• Interview, education and examination to determine proper sedation;
• The doctor tailors a specific level of sedation for each patient;
• A specially trained team assists each patient;
• The patient is continually monitored with state-of-the-art equipment;
• The patient is escorted to and from the sedation appointment.

Is Oral Sedation Dentistry Expensive?
Of all the choices for sedation care, oral conscious sedation is the least expensive. Patients have discovered tremendous value in accomplishing dentistry without the fear and without exhaustion.

Too many people are avoiding much needed dental care due to fear. We’re excited about helping patients visit the dentist with this safe, wonderful technique of anxiety-free dentistry.
