What to Expect
The dentist will perform a complete oral examination and discuss any treatment you may need. The examination can identify conditions such as tooth decay, periodontal disease, and even oral cancer.
- A review of your complete dental and medical history forms.
- Complete X-rays of your teeth and mouth.
- A cleaning by one of our hygienists, which includes an exam to make sure your teeth and gums are healthy, as well as checking for any cavities or early signs of tooth decay. The hygienist will also polish your teeth after the cleaning.
- Once Dr. Hyde has reviewed your dental and medical health history forms, he will do a thorough dental exam. Afterwards Dr. Hyde will provide you with a dental consultation and information about any additional dental treatments you, or your child, may need. During this time Dr. Hyde will answer any questions you may have.
Your first appointment will take approximately 1 hour. Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.
What to Bring
To make your visit as pleasant and brief as possible, there are a few things you should bring with you.
If you’ve had dental x-rays in the last six months, please bring them to your first appointment. If you don’t have them, plan on biting down on that little cardboard thingy. New x-rays will be taken.
With just a few simple forms, we’ll ask for relevant medical history, any medications you might be taking, your dental history, and any dental insurance coverage you may have.
